My uncle's funeral

Yesterday I went to my uncle's funeral in Auburn, Iowa. It was probably the most depressing funeral I've been to in along time. While i was in Auburn i got to see a lot of my family that i haven't seen in a long time. I was down there for two days. The best part about being there was being able to see/comfort my grandparents around their house and with the loss of their son. The worst part of being down there was having to see my mom cry....it killed me to see that.

The day of the funeral there was a mass (church service) at 2:00 p.m. There was over 100 people at his funeral. After the mass everyone got in their vehicles and got in to their spot in the line to drive to the cemetery. When we got to the cemetery everyone gathered around his burier sight. Then Father (a priest) said a prayer for my uncle and as that happened a lot of people started to cry including me. After the funeral was over there was a lunch-in back at the church in the basement.

Field Trip to DMACC

Last Friday I went on a field trip with my small engines teacher and my class. We went to DMACC for the day. When we got there we had to take a 100 question test on "how to take apart, fix, put together, and clean engines." the test was kinda hard and almost know one tried on it. After the test all the students got to walk around the campus, they also got to look at new cars and their engines. We got the eat lunch there too, for lunch we had hamburgers, brats, chips, and pop/water. After lunch there was a drawing to win prizes (No one from our school won, but one student caught a hackie sack). Then the class went to a presentation at DMACC about engines and different kinds of oils and gases. Then we went and looked at more engines. On our way home we got to stop at a Dirt bike, ATV, Motorcycle shop for a while. When we got back to school it was around 2 P.M. It was around 7th hour so I went to my PLN class with Mrs.Miller.

The Social Network

Last night i went to a movie with my PLN class that was called "The Social Network". The movie is about a guy named Mark Zuckerberg that goes to Harvard. while he was at harvard he created two websites. One was called "facemash" (i think it was really a different name, but the movie used that one) and the other one was "the facebook", which later became known as "Facebook." In the movie Mark appointed he best friend Edwardo the co-finder of facebook. he also meets up with Shaun Parker, the creator of Napster. Shaun finds out about facebook and goes and meets Mark and Edwardo in person. Then shaun gets Mark to move to California. Shaun ends up getting busted by the police at a party he was having at Mark's/his house with Cocaine and with minors. After that Mark thinks about kicking Shaun out of the company, but doesn't and Shaun ends up owning 7% of facebook and Edwardo ended up owning 34% of the company and Mark owns 63% (I could be wrong). Facebook is in over 207 countries and has over 5 million members using it to this day. Facebook has be sued 5 times since it was launched on the internet about 7 years ago.

Oklahoma trip part 2

Ok so I recently wrote a blog about me going to Oklahoma. Well now I'm writing about what i did and what i saw in while i was there.

The first thing i did was check into a hotel on the Army Base at 1:30 a.m. Then the next day i went to see amanda's demonstration. The demonstration is where the Drill Sargent and some of the soldiers show the progress that they made in the last 9 weeks of training. they showed what they looked like when they first started and then what they looked like after the 9 weeks they were there. Then after the demonstration was over i got to hang with amanda. The first thing we did when we could hang with her was go to the PX. A PX is like a mini Walmart on the base, it's pretty cool. Then we went out to eat at Taco Bell. After Taco Bell we came back to the hotel so amanda could just relax for the day. We got to hang with her until 8:30 p.m. At 8:30 p.m. she had to go back to the barracks for the night.

The things i saw while I was there were really cool. I got to see / hold a .50 caliber rifle, that was really cool, but heavy at the same time. i got to see the barracks from the inside and out. The Army Base is practically the whole town of Fort Sill, theres Army people EVERYWHERE. I got to see a really really cool hotel (i wish i could live in it). I got to meet some of the Drill Sargents and some of the other soldiers. I also got to see how to keep cover while moving under fire. I got a dvd of what everyone went through (theres bad language in it though so i cant show it at school).

From, Jesse

P.S. Thanks for reading this blog
